Re: Ambulance Crossovers to Winnipeg Fire Department / Wage Scales

We have been notified by the WFPS Administration that, starting this April, all ambulance crossovers will have their pay reduced to that of a probationary Fire Fighter and we have been working very diligently on this issue.

This reduction in pay will begin with the seven ambulance crossovers who are to be transferred over the first week of April.

We believe that this action is not only morally reprehensible but violates long standing agreements that we have with the administration on how to fairly administer the process of ambulance personnel transferring in to the Winnipeg Fire Department.

This issue is extremely important, as we always have a large number of ambulance personnel who wish to transfer to become Fire Fighter Paramedics.

We are doing everything that we can within the legal and political realm of our influence to deal with this issue.
