Grateful Citizen Makes 1K Donation

June 7, 2016

Ms. Linda Mcleod came by station 11 this evening to make a $1000.00 donation to the Firefighters Burn Fund.

The rescue crew assisted her last week when her O2 ran out at Canad Inns Polo Park – not needing to go to the hospital but concerned she would run out of O2 before her cab would get her home, the crew lent her their tank and followed her home. Driven by a friend, Ms Mcleod was able to make it home where she had an ample supply of home oxygen.

Moved by this uncommon assistance, Ms Mcleod thanked the crew but decided to go further and come by this evening with her generous donation.

Gotta love this job.

2016 Pride Parade

June 5, 2016

A great volunteer turnout helped us send a positive message of acceptance at Sunday’s Winnipeg Pride Parade.

Nearly 20 members & family walked with L1 along during the 90 minute parade route through downtown on Sunday afternoon.

As always, we want to say thank you to everyone who made time to come out – these community events go a long way in making a positive difference in our community.
