On behalf of every one of the 1700 Firefighters and Fire-paramedics who we represent in Manitoba we would like to thank the Provincial NDP for their announcement yesterday in the Throne Speech concerning PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).

We thank them for their commitment to introduce and pass legislation making it easier for Firefighters, Paramedics and Police Officers to be covered for PTSD for the purposes of WCB.

This legislation will not only assist emergency workers in Manitoba in dealing with this occupational hazard but will also help to educate our members on this issue.
