Earlier this week our water rescue crews were dispatched for an animal rescue on an ice flow in the river.

Happy to report this incident had a happy outcome for the stranded pet.
The Winnipeg Humane Society took great care of this cat and because of an ear tattoo & micro chip, was reunited with its family.

***Update to Cat Rescue***
We have been informed by the Winnipeg Humane Society that the cat recently rescued on a Wpg waterway remains in their care.
The owners have been contacted by using its tattoo & ear chip, but the pet is still very stressed and requires further assessment and care.
