Statement from the United Fire Fighters of Winnipeg
May 14, 2025

On behalf of the United Fire Fighters of Winnipeg, we express our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to all those affected by the tragic wildfires sweeping through northern Manitoba. Our thoughts are with the families and communities grieving the devastating loss of life, homes, and livelihoods.

We also recognize and honour the extraordinary efforts of the first responders and wildfire crews who continue to face dangerous and unpredictable conditions with courage and determination. Their sacrifice, resilience, and tireless commitment to protecting others is a powerful reminder of the risks our profession entails.

To all those on the front lines: your bravery does not go unnoticed. We urge you to stay safe, take care of one another, and know that your brothers and sisters in Winnipeg are standing in solidarity with you during this critical time.

We remain committed to supporting all efforts to bring these fires under control and to assist the communities that will need help in the weeks and months ahead.

In unity and solidarity,

Nick Kasper
